From the Battlefield to the Frame
Chaos to Clarity is not just a title—it’s a story of transformation. After years in the military, I turned to photography as a way to process, reflect, and ultimately find peace. Each image is a raw, authentic expression of that journey, capturing the resilience, beauty, and complexity of life. My work is a testament to the power of art to bring order to chaos, offering a glimpse into a world where turmoil meets tranquility.

From the gritty streets of NYC to the vibrant art scenes of San Antonio, my journey is one of transformation—from chaos to clarity. At 23, I left the relentless pulse of New York to serve in the Navy, where I spent 23 years as a Hospital Corpsman, navigating the complexities of combat and the nuances of human experience. My career took me around the globe, immersing me in the beauty and brutality of this blue marble we live on. These years sharpened my eye for detail, deepened my appreciation for life’s fleeting moments, and fueled my pursuit of success in everything I did.
But it’s time for a bit of disclosure. On May 1st, 2022, I retired from the Navy, ready to embark on the adventures my dad and I always dreamed about but never got around to because of my obligations. Just 26 days later, he passed away, leaving me with a profound realization: time is forever moving, and we never know how much of it we have left.
Today, I spend my time with my camera, chasing lights and dreams, capturing the raw, unfiltered emotions of the world around me. I meet people from all walks of life who tell me how they wish to do what they love—just as I’m doing now. And it hurts me to think that we never know if we’re just 26 days away from losing the chance to live our passions.
So, I share this with you to say: do what you love, do it because you love it, and do it now. My work reflects this philosophy, a blend of the chaos of the battlefield and the clarity that comes from truly seeing. I shoot primarily with Leica cameras, a brand that matches my pursuit of excellence and commitment to storytelling through every frame.
As an instructor at UTSA Arts, a member of The Raw Society, and staff at Pepper Magazine, I’m dedicated to exploring and sharing the artistic process. Whether teaching, curating a collection of images, or crafting content that resonates on social media, my mission remains the same: to inspire others to explore their journey, one frame at a time.
In a nutshell, I’ve seen the worst in people during combat, ensured loved ones made it back home for proper last rites, and was lucky enough to save a few along the way. We are often more than what we project—tag along for my origin story.
Good luck and Godspeed. Explore the journey with me. Together, we’ll find clarity in the chaos.
